Who You Will Be Partnering With

Melissa Reynolds
Hi! I’m Ms. Melissa, and I have the joy of teaching in our one-room farm school—a place where little feet get muddy, little hands get busy, and little hearts grow big in faith.
Before this holy adventure, I spent years in public education, teaching in traditional classrooms. I’m grateful for those years—they gave me a deep foundation in education and a whole lot of patience. But God had more in store. He stirred in me a vision for something different: a space where children could learn through wonder, work, worship, and the Word—all in the same day.
As a single mom, I know a thing or two about grit, grace, and coffee that’s cold. Life hasn’t always gone according to plan, but I’ve seen God turn broken roads into beautiful paths. Genesis 50:20 has been an anchor in my life: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, to accomplish what is now being done.” Every hardship—every detour—has brought me right here, where I get to pour into the next generation with purpose and joy.
In our little farm school, we blend classical learning with homesteading life. One moment we’re reading, the next we’re gathering eggs or pressing wildflowers. We read living books, recite Scripture, and learn that wisdom often starts with wonder.
When I’m not teaching, I’m chasing my perfectly wild preschooler, loving my family, or pretending I didn’t run the same load of laundry again. I’m honored to partner with families in raising children who think deeply, speak truth, love God, and serve others—with dirt on their hands and joy in their hearts.

Jeremy Wallace
Once an Airborne soldier, now a soldier for Christ—I’m Jeremy Wallace, and my life was radically changed by the grace of God in 2004. Since then, I’ve been living fervently for Jesus, walking in the calling He placed on my life: to teach the next generation about His saving love.
My wife and I have had the joy of fostering and adopting four incredible children right here in Caldwell County. That journey has only deepened my passion for building strong families, supporting our community, and pouring into the lives of kids—especially through hands-on learning, biblical truth, and the hard but holy work of farming.
At Brown Mountain Farm School, I’m committed to bringing in local wisdom, history, and practical skills to help raise up children who know who they are in Christ, how to work with their hands, and how to live with purpose, integrity, and grit.
This is more than a school. It’s a calling—and I’m honored to be part of it.
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Kelsey Wallace
Hi, I’m Kelsey Wallace—a high school biology/environmental teacher by trade, but a homesteader and community-builder at heart. I wear a few different hats: founder of Brown Mountain Farm School, operator of Brown Mountain Beach Resort, and, most importantly, a mama who loves her kids, Jesus, and the wild beauty of creation.
My heart beats for the adoption and foster care community, and I believe deeply in creating spaces where children feel seen, loved, and empowered to grow into who God made them to be. While I am not the main teacher in the classroom with your kiddo, I will be on the farm teaching the water or the nitrogen cycle, making science come to life through gardening, soil testing and cro rotation, or just being a kid with your kid by the creek at the resort. My mission is the same no matter where you may see me or where I am with your child: to live purposefully, steward the land well, and point everything back to Christ.
Give me dirt on my hands, veggies from the garden, and a good worship playlist in the background—and I’m right where I belong. I can not wait to teach your kiddo the beauty of Christ through healthy living, and the garden. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me spend time with you and your family.
